No matter the age of the kids you are parenting or grandparenting, this content will help you to understand the unique challenges they face and to have the tools to guide them to navigate their technological world. The presentation helps you plan as your kids become connected to their friends (and the world) through technology. Specifically, it will help parents prepare their kids for the “wild west” of social media, give guidance to guard against porn, and help families to make wise choices (and stay safe) online.

Drawing from The Young Man’s Guide to Awesomeness, this special event is designed to get fathers* and sons talking about the essential issues of manhood. Using creative communication, videos, and examples from today’s headlines, we help fathers and sons talk openly about porn, girls, and living lives of purpose.

*You do not have to be a father/son(s) duo to attend. If you are an adult male (Grandfathers, Uncles, Mentors, Coaches, Youth pastors, Friend, etc) who is a role model to one or more boys age 12+ we welcome you to bring them to this event.

Barrett and Jennifer will hit on 2 very important topics:

Critical Conversations – Helping our Kids Navigate a Hyper-Sexualized Culture – This workshop covers many of the issues addressed in our popular book, “The Talk(s)” and covers both “what to know” and “what to do” to help our kids make wise choices. Parents leave with the tools they need to have ongoing conversations about physical changes, dating, porn, social media and God’s awesome design for sex. It is great for parents of teenagers but ideal for parents of 1st through 7th graders.

Turning Your Child’s Heart Towards God – Parents today are under tremendous pressure to make sure their kids are successful in academics, sports, the arts, and numerous other things. It is easy to lose sight of the fact that the most important thing we can teach our kids is to walk in intimacy with God. Unfortunately, the faith of the average 17 year old is sort of like his 7th grade science project: mom and dad did all the work and he just put his name on it.” While there isn’t a foolproof formula to help our kids walk with God, there is one foundational thing that parents can do to insure their kids’ hearts are positioned to know Him.
