Rick is currently the Executive Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Hockey program after launching the hockey arm of the ministry in 2008. He and his family have just relocated to Alexandria, MN after completing a 5 year mission trip in which they (and another family) spent 30 days in all 50 States to help establish FCA Hockey and share the love of Jesus Christ with hockey coaches, players and families.
Rick graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 1993, where he is among the all-time leading scorers in Army hockey history. After graduation, he spent 6 years in the United States Army as a Calvary Officer and Army Ranger.
Rick received his Masters’ degree in Business Administration in 1999 before leaving the Army for Corporate America and to coach college hockey. For the next 8 years, Rick excelled as a technology sales executive while also performing head coaching duties for the United States Naval Academy hockey team. Rick also had the opportunity to coach for Team USA during the World University Games in Innsbruck Austria in 2005.
Rick has been married to his wife Shannan for 21 years and they have 5 children, ages 18 to 5.
